Bereavement Services

The Universal Hospice Department provides bereavement services to the patient’s family members and caregivers to help them cope with the losses they experience during the patient’s illness and eventual death. These losses could involve coping with the death of a loved one or changes in lifestyle and family relationships.

Bereavement services are available to any family member, caregiver or significant other involved with the patient.

These services are covered as part of the patient’s hospice benefit.

We maintain contact with our patients’ families for up to 13 months after the death of their loved one.

This contact may consist of personal visits, phone calls and providing written materials about grief and coping.
